Hazel Clark is a 3-time Olympian, 6-time U.S. national champion, World Championships and Olympic Games finalist, 6-time NCAA champion, and national junior champion. A Nike-sponsored athlete, she has appeared on billboards and store fronts and in instructional videos, commercials, and print ads in Glamour and Vogue. She currently serves as the Director of Sports Business Development for the Bermuda Tourism Authority and is writing a book, Lessons to Lean On. Part of a track and field family, Hazel is sister to 4-time Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs and Stanford University director of track and field JJ Clark, and is sister-in-law to 5-time Olympian and American record holder Jearl Miles Clark. In 2000, Hazel, sister-in-law Jearl, and sister Joetta finished 1-2-3 in the Olympic Trials 800 meters. Hazel completed her stellar running career with a personal best 800-meter time of 1:57.99, which makes her the 18th fastest American ever. Hazel is also the daughter of former Eastside High School principal Joe Clark, who was portrayed by actor Morgan Freeman in the movie, Lean on Me.
